Director of Golf

Michael Jack grew up in West Covina, California. He learned the game at a young age from his father, a member of South Hills Country Club. At 17 he moved east to attend Colorado State University. Upon graduation in 1993 he moved back to Southern California where his career as a PGA Golf Professional began. Mike worked as an Apprentice Professional at San Gabriel Country Club for 4 years where he trained under Head Professional, Michael Kelly and Jim Petralia, one of golf’s top 100 teaching Professionals in the United States. Mike then spent 2 years working at Glendora Country Club where he earned his membership into the PGA under Dave Carollo. In 1999, Mike moved to San Diego with his wife Caroline where he was hired as Head Professional at Vista Valley Country Club. Mike and Caroline had two little girls, Elizabeth and Emily, born in 2000 and 2002. In 2005 Mike was hired at South Hills Country Club as their Head Professional. A few years later in 2010, he was named Director of Golf. Mike and his family now live in Placentia. Mike has also had a successful playing career within the PGA of America. He recently competed in the 2012 National Club Professional Championship. He has won numerous professional tournaments and represented his peers on several cup teams. In his time away from the club and golf course he enjoys spending time with his kids at their sporting events, family ski trips, reading, and watching sports.
